Living Water Christian Fellowship
 Church History

In January 2005, Pastor Alonzo Medley and Deacon Kirk Jones began to pray about forming a Church with a small group that had been holding Bible study in their homes. After a time of prayer and discussion with their wives and the others in regular attendance, Living Water Christian Fellowship was incorporated on July 5, 2005.

We are thankful for all that the Lord has done in this work and are eager to see what He yet has for us. Jeremiah 29:11 adequately speaks to us for our future in this work – “Behold, I have a plan for your life, a plan for goodness and not trouble, that you may reach your expected end.

We began gathering in our homes on a rotating basis, where we sought to emulate the early Church by standing on the four pillars of New Testament believers:  (1) Prayer, (2) Word of God, (3) Fellowship, and (4) Breaking bread. We believe God has drawn us closer to each other and closer to Him as a result of this commitment , and it is our intent to continue in it through the various stages of Church development.

Although we were going from house to house with our Friday evening Bible Study/Fellowship, we were holding Sunday morning services in Pastor and Freda’s home. We quickly outgrew their home and began to look for a place to hold our morning services.  As God would have it, the corner house next to the Medleys became available.  The family who had previously lived there were pleased to have their former home serve as a Church, because as devout Christians themselves, they had always considered it a house of God.

By the time we were anticipating our 4th anniversary we again needed to acquire a place to accommodate our growth. We are encouraged by what the Lord has done in providing us with our new home at 2949 West Clearfield Street. We held our first service here April 12th, Easter Sunday, of 2009.

We have a diverse group of believers who are committed to the Lord.  Though we are thankful for these five years, and all that we have accomplished through faith, prayer and hard work, we know we must do more to achieve the vision God has given our Pastor for us.

Ephesians 3:20 reads, Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.   We invite you to come and visit, come and see, and come and join us as we accept the challenge to go “ABOVE and BEYOND” in our commitment as servants to the Lord.
